Document Templates - Upload Excel Journal Entry in UT

Modified on Thu, 30 Jan at 9:12 AM

This is from ticket #63693:

For IT information:

Brice and Nathan do not have access to Document templates screen.  They said, Jake has access to it.

I saved the template file from Brice in our D365 Information storage, under D365 folder.  See below.

We did the following to correct this issue.

1. Go to Document templates screen.

2. Select record for LedgerJournalLineEntryTemplate

3. Delete that selected record.

4. Add new record by selecting/uploading the template file.  See below.  Make sure to update the template name and following information:

Template name : LedgerJournalLineEntryTemplate

Template display name : General journal line entry

Template Description : General journal line entry using an Excel template providing totals and dimensions as columns

List in Open in Office menu - checked/enabled

5. One adding is done, then ask user to test and verify.

2024.10.03 - Updated template (from PROD) file and location. Both source template files work as confirmed by Brice. Also added steps to verify.

Once template is updated, do the following to verify that it opens the excel template.

1. Go to General Journals.

2. Select the +New.

3. Select name GenJrnl.

4. Then select "Open Lines in Excel"

5. Then select "Invoice journal line"

Verify that is opens the uploaded Excel template.
